** THE OLD LINCOLN ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN **

The Old Lincoln Road (South Werrington) that runs from the A15 Parkway through to David’s Lane (North Werrington), has endured year on year increases in traffic volume, several significant road accidents and has even been part of LGV learning routes in recent years.

Now on top of these points, there is even talk of building several thousand new houses, in the North of Peterborough a.k.a North Werrington. Extra homes mean extra cars and vehicles!

That is why in 2007 local Liberal Democrats put forward a formal motion calling for action, only for the City Councils ruling party to vote against it at a Full Council meeting.

This is why the South Werrington and North Gunthorpe FOCUS Team are committed to working for you.

They believe the City Council are failing local people and will continue to argue for those in power at the Town Hall to take action! The FOCUS Team are demanding a survey and road safety measures be introduced ASAP. But they need your help.

Suggestions Made By Local Residents:

"Let's see some resurfacing of Lincoln Road and footpath work south of the Cock Inn." - (Edinburgh Avenue)

"What about seeing a mirror installed at the second bend in the road (south), leading from the A15." - (Salisbury Road)

�Since the Council took away the lollipop lady near to the entrance of Carron Drive, I�d like to see some sort of crossing installed nearby. At the moment it can be very dangerous at busy times of the day.� �- (Carron Drive)

�I always thought it was the plan to close off the North entrance of Lincoln Road? Why can we not have a retractable bollard system/island installed between Danish Court and Southwell Avenue? That way only residential traffic would use the Old Lincoln Road and other drivers would be compelled to use the Werrington Parkway, but still access all the local facilities. Plus, bus routes could still be maintained!� - (Lincoln Road)

�We need Parking Attendants to enforce the law on drivers who park on double yellow lines.� - (Rivendale)
